Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi endorses Ted Lieu for Congress

Lieu continues to win major endorsements in the race to succeed Rep. Waxman

LOS ANGELES – Congressional candidate and State Senator Ted Lieu today announced another major endorsement in his bid to replace retiring Rep. Henry Waxman.  California Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, who’s district is mostly nested within Congressional District 33, voiced his strong support for Ted Lieu.

“Ted Lieu is my choice for Congress.  He's a veteran, a champion for the environment and has a long record of fighting for our community,” said Muratsuchi, a former deputy attorney general and school board member.

Muratsuchi, who followed Lieu to the Assembly, continued: “Ted's smart, tenacious, from the district and clearly the right person to represent us in Washington,"

The endorsement of Lieu, whose district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33, comes on the heel of his declaration and announcement of over 25 other major statewide and local endorsements.

Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and the California State Senate.

The 33rd Congressional District stretches from the Palos Verdes Peninsula to Malibu along the Los Angeles County coast.
