CLCV Endorses Ted Lieu for Congress

The California League of Conservation Voters endorsed State Senator Ted Lieu in the race for Congressional District 33. Senator Lieu scored a 100% rating on his legislative scorecard from CLCV in 2013. Lieu is running to replace Rep. Henry Waxman who will retire at the end of this year.

“Ted Lieu received the highest score a legislator can receive on his environmental score card last year because he has been a champion for the environment, especially in areas like clean and renewable energy, air and water quality, recycling and coastal protection,” said CLCV Political Director David Allgood. “We feel confident Ted will continue this good work for the environment in Congress, and that’s why we support him in this race.”

The California League of Conservation Voters’ mission is to protect the environmental quality of the state by increasing public awareness of the environmental performance of all elected officials, working to elect environmentally responsible candidates, and holding them accountable once elected.

State Senator Ted Lieu's district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and State Senate.
