CSEA Endorses Ted Lieu for Congress

LOS ANGELES - The California School Employees Association, the largest classified school employees union in the United States, representing more than 210,000 school support staff throughout California, has endorsed Ted Lieu for Congress.

The CSEA endorsement comes on the heels of Lieu's other major labor endorsements, including the Service Employees International Union of California, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Locals 13 and 94, the Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs, Teamsters Joint Council 42 and the Torrance Firefighters Association.

"Ted Lieu has shown tremendous leadership in stabilizing funding and then bringing more investments to our public schools. Washington faces many of the same challenges California has grappled with and Ted's experience will be an invaluable asset for our state," said CSEA President Michael Bilbrey. "Ted Lieu is our choice for Congress because he will continue to fight for our children, our schools, Classified Employees and good paying jobs."

CSEA members perform a wide range of essential work in our public schools and community colleges, including security, food services, office and clerical work, school maintenance and operations, transportation, academic assistance and paraeducator services, library and media assistance, computer services and more.

State Senator Ted Lieu's district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and Senate.
