Sacramento, CA - California State Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones today announced his strong support and endorsement for State Senator Ted Lieu in the race to succeed Congressman Henry Waxman for Congressional District 33.

"I worked closely with Ted Lieu when California was facing many of the same issues America is facing today: political gridlock, a budget deficit of over $40 billion and the threat of a government shutdown. We fought through those difficult times, made the hard choices and put California back on track. We need that same kind of leadership in our nation's capitol and that is why I am honored to endorse Ted Lieu for Congress," said Insurance Commissioner Jones.

Insurance Commissioner Jones, a statewide elected constitutional officer, joins an impressive list of over 60 elected officials.

State Senator Ted Lieu’s current district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and the California State Senate.

The 33rd Congressional District stretches from the Palos Verdes Peninsula to Malibu along the Los Angeles County coast.
