The Laborers Local 1309 have endorsed State Senator Ted Lieu in the race for CD 33. Lieu is running to replace Rep. Henry Waxman who is retiring at the end of this year.

Peter Santillan, Secretary-Treasurer of Laborers' Local 1309 said:

"Ted Lieu has been a leader in job creation, expanding access to higher education and economic development. We support Ted Lieu because he will be a strong voice for working families. We think he is the best choice to represent us in Congress."

State Senator Ted Lieu's district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and State Senate.
