MALIBU COUNCILMEMBERS UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSE
TED LIEU FOR CONGRESS

Ted Lieu continued to pick up momentum and community support for his campaign to succeed Henry Waxman in California’s 33rd Congressional District with the endorsement of all five members of the Malibu City Council:  Mayor Skylar Peak, Mayor Pro Tem John Sibert and Councilmembers Joan House, Laura Rosenthal and Lou La Monte.

“I am honored and humbled to have the unanimous support of the entire Malibu City Council.  Protecting our coast, preserving open space, and improving the quality of life of residents are all goals that we share together,” said State Senator Ted Lieu.

Protecting the quality of life in Malibu is priority number one for me.  I endorse Ted Lieu for Congress because he will take his record of working with all sides to combat climate change, improve education and create jobs to Washington as Henry Waxman did,” said Mayor Skylar Peak

"I support Ted Lieu for Congress because Ted Lieu's common sense approach to government will make a big difference in Washington and keep creating more jobs in California," said Mayor Pro Tem John Sibert.

Councilwoman Laura Rosenthal said, "Ted Lieu has been an effective voice in Sacramento for coastal protection and education. I endorse Ted Lieu because I have no doubt he will take that record to Washington and make a difference for the 33rd Congressional District.”

"Ted Lieu is the only candidate in the race to succeed Henry Waxman who shares his commitment to combating the effects of climate change, which is a direct threat to our city, " said Councilwoman Joan House

Councilmember Lou La Monte added, "I endorse Ted Lieu because he has a proven record of stepping forward to keep entertainment jobs in California and has proven himself a thoughtful legislator who can get things done.”

State Senator Ted Lieu’s district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD33.  Senator Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and State Senate.  He has been endorsed by the Los Angeles Times, Daily News/Daily Breeze, Congressmember Henry Waxman and County Supervisors Zev Yaroslavsky and Don Knabe.
