Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom Endorses Ted Lieu for Congress

October 27, 2014 - Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom has endorsed State Senator Ted Lieu for CD 33. Lieu is running to replace Congressman Henry Waxman who also supports the Torrance Senator.

Newsom said:

"Ted Lieu possesses the personal character, the intellectual toughness and the innovative mindset to not just be an effective Congressman but a true leader for our nation in the 21st century. He understands the importance of both education and technology and their roles in the future economy. Ted Lieu gets it, and his record and vision is why he is my endorsed candidate for the 33rd Congressional District." 

Lieu said:

"I really admire Lt. Governor Newsom's forward thinking leadership for our State. His focus on developing the high tech industry and higher education has really propelled our economic growth. I am grateful for his support." 
 
State Senator Ted Lieu's district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and State Senate.
