Mayor Riordan said of the Candidate for CD 33:

"I strongly endorse Ted Lieu for Congress because Ted is a problem solver. He is smart, tenacious, and effective. Ted has worked across the aisle with legislators and the executive branch for many years and made the tough choices that helped turn California's budget deficit into a budget surplus. Ted will be an outstanding member of Congress and I am honored to endorse him."

State Senator Ted Lieu’s current district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and the California State Senate.
