SEIU California Endorses Ted Lieu for Congress

Lieu momentum continues with support of major labor group

LOS ANGELES - After receiving several endorsements from labor organizations and the official endorsement of the California Democratic Party last weekend, Ted Lieu’s campaign continued its momentum with an endorsement from SEIU California. SEIU California represents over 700,000 public service employees across the state. Lieu is running for Congressional District 33. The district is currently represented by Henry Waxman, who is retiring at the end of this year.

“I’m proud to be endorsed by the working people represented by SEIU California. I’m a child of immigrants who was raised to value hard work, and I’m running for Congress to make sure that working people across California and the nation have the same opportunities I did to achieve the American Dream,” said State Senator Ted Lieu.

State Senator Ted Lieu’s current district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33.  Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and the California State Senate.
