The Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters have thrown their support behind State Senator Ted Lieu in the race for CD 33. The Council represents over 65,000 union carpenters, in six states. Lieu is running to replace Rep. Henry Waxman who is retiring at the end of this year.
Randy Thornhill, Vice President of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters said:
"Ted Lieu has been a long-standing advocate for working men and women at the local level and in Sacramento. He knows the issues that are important to carpenters - job creation, training, public safety and a healthy environment. He will continue to fight for these issues and for working families in Congress."
State Senator Ted Lieu's district comprises more than 80 percent of the voters in CD 33. Lieu is a long-time resident of the district, an Air Force veteran and has served time on the Torrance City Council, State Assembly and State Senate.
